PATIENTS' STORIES

We are very proud to share with you what our patients say about Meadowlands Hospital... readmore

“Every person treated me with much care and affection. I want to thank all the nurses for their care and kindness. Doctor was as good as the nurses! Doctor and nurses treated me like family. I hope no friend or family ever has to go to (Meadowlands) hospital but if they do – they will be in caring hands.”
— Mark S., Meadowlands Hospital Emergency Room Patient, January 2017

“The food was great and I had many channels on my tv. WiFi worked perfectly. I LOVED the nurses. They all genuinely cared and were always willing to listen to me. I honestly LOVE the nurses on the maternity ward. I really wish I was better with names because they were all exceptional!”
— Lillian D., Meadowlands Hospital HCAHPS/Postpartum Patient, December 2016

MEADOWLANDS EMERGENCY

MHMC HEALTHFEED

It’s Not Too Late To Get A Flu Shot

Here at Meadowlands Hospital we are very serious about vaccinating people for Influenza (Flu). It is a nasty disease that tends to last about 8 months throughout the year in most places. As common as the flu may be, this doesn’t make it any safer. Many people die every year from this illness, which is why getting vaccinated is very important. According to the National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS) mortality surveillance data available on December 31, 2014, 7.2% of the deaths occurring during the week ending December 13, 2014 (week 50) were due to Pneumonia & Influenza. Our medical experts are saying that the disease is running it’s course longer and affecting more people this season than in recent years, which is another reason to get a vaccination as soon as possible.

If you have not already done so, make sure getting the flu shot is at the top of your list. Given that vaccinations are distributed before the flu season starts, most people think it is pointless or too late to get one once the season has taken effect. Don’t wait before it hits you, make your appointment at Meadowlands Hospital and get protected from this dangerous disease. Here are some reasons why you should get the shot ASAP.

Flu symptoms include fever, cough, sore throat, a runny or stuffy nose, muscle or body aches, headaches and fatigue. There are other viruses that can cause these symptoms, but a high fever and bad cough usually indicate flu.

To keep our community healthy and safe, Meadowlands Hospital will be providing free of charge flu shots on the following days (for adults 18+):
