Meadowlands Hospital Medical Center is pleased to announce the new Cardiology Department.
Cardiology Department is being designed to cover all aspects of cardiology. The department of non-invasive cardiology will focus on screening patients for all types of heart disease. The department has a state of the art echocardiography machine to evaluate patients for structural heart disease and assess valvular heart disease. 24 hour holter monitoring and electrocardiography are available on an inpatient and outpatient basis.
The department will be having regular office hours to see out patients either referred from their primary physician or on discharge from the hospital.
Stress testing will be available in the form of stress echocardiography to rule out coronary artery disease.
Nuclear stress testing for coronary artery disease will also be available soon.
This will also provide the ability to do muga scans for evaluation of left ventricular function.
The department will also be aggressively promoting primary prevention of cardiovascular disease.
