Patients who require surgery on the hand, shoulder, ankle, foot, or spine are referred to our Orthopedic Surgery Department. At Meadowlands Hospital, our surgeons diagnose, care for, and treat patients with musculoskeletal disorders. Our physicians will also treat lower back pain, pulled muscles, and ruptured discs. Both surgical and nonsurgical routes may be used to treat the trauma or disease. The Board certified team includes physicians and surgeons also specializing in Sports Medicine. Although patients seeking an orthopedic specialist may need surgery, typically 50 percent of an orthopedist's practice consists of pain management of injuries and diseases. When a patient has orthopedic surgery at Meadowlands Hospital, they may participate in inpatient care at our Meadowlands Rehabilitation Center.
